CPDF GROUPS' INITIATIVE
is a collaboration of non-profit organizations that have come together
to advocate for children's rights in issues addressed in Family Court.
We meet every Thursday at 7:00p.m at the United Way Building, One
Smithfield Street, downtown Pittsburgh, day as Saturday and Sunday meetings
are at designated sites.
Our MISSION
To stress the importance of responsibility in keeping non -custodial
parents involved in parenting after divorce and separation and focus on
the importance of fathers in their child's life. To dissolve conflict between
parents, and encourage a working relationship for the best interest of
the children by facilitating a written shared parenting agreement.
To provide support, education, and information on child support, custody,
parenting plans and other parenting issues. To promote marriage. To keep
all our members informed on the resent laws concerning families. To educate
our youth on the vital aspect of parenting.
Our organization is unique because we combined professional expertise
in working with parents teams and staff teams. This provides options to
expensive lawyers and court time, costly mediation sessions, adversarial
proceedings and prolonged bitterness. We are not controlled nor employed
by the court. Our organizations are membership and donation funded.
We EDUCATE in 4 major areas:
1. Conflict resolution and anger management
2. Custody and parenting arrangements
3. Child support
4. Distribution of martial assets
